Some people can multitask better than others — and, Lauren Petersen is one of those people. If you live in Indy, you’ve likely crossed paths with Lauren. Lauren Petersen is a GO-GETTER and a DO-GOODER. And, it’s not often that someone can deserve both titles. As the Senior Director of Relationship Management for TechPoint, Lauren is driven by her team’s mission to build a renowned ecosystem growth accelerator that makes Central Indiana the top tech hub in the Midwest and top in the nation among mid-sized cities. Lauren’s usually in meetings across Central Indiana with tech, government and university execs for the majority of her workday and then executing on projects/emails in between. Lauren’s also very engaged in several local non-profits and organizations so most of her days and evenings include giving back to our community in some way. I told ya, Lauren’s calendar is full! I love being around Lauren because she’s an incredibly passionate person. I am impressed with Lauren’s ability to pack her calendar with fun events, too — and, she always looks fab!

WHAT DOES #SKINBABE MEAN TO YOU?

To me, #SkinBabe means confidently embracing and loving the skin we are in, at each stage of life, and making healthy decisions to care for our bodies’ largest organ! I’ve endured several stages of necessary skincare in my life from acne prone skin in my teenage and tomboy years (always running from sport to sport), to over sun-saturated skin in my young adult years (working as a lifeguard during my high school and college summers), to now, relying on a skincare regimen that meets the demanding needs of being a busy young professional.

WHY DO YOU LIKE SKINCARE, #SKINBABE?

I’m always on the go, so time to invest in myself is precious and always fleeting. I like skincare because it forces me to put myself first! I cherish my skincare routine because it gives me the energy to kickstart each day and allows me to unwind peacefully in the evening.

Morning:

Wash face with Clarisonic Mia and Beautycounter Nourishing Exfoliator for one minute (rinsing with cold water is key to waking me up!)
Spread a pea size drop of Beautycounter No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil across my cheeks, nose and forehead
Use one pump of Beautycounter Nourishing Day Cream and spread evenly across face and neck
If it’s a makeup day, apply makeup in front of my Zadro Magnifying Makeup Mirror

Night:

Wash off makeup with Dove DermaSeries Fragrance-Free Facial Cleansing Bar
Spread one pump of Beautycounter Overnight Resurfacing Peel over face
Apply a conservative amount of Rodan & Fields Lash Boost across base of top lashes
Lightly pat a pea size amount of Beautycounter Nourishing Eye Cream around crease of both eyes
Apply a pump of Nourishing Night Cream across face and neck

WHAT’S A PRODUCT YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT? AND YOUR SAVE/SPLURGE?

I love Beautycounter’s No. 3 Nourishing Facial Mask! I can literally see the activated charcoal at work as it deep-cleans each pore and absorbs the excess oil. My skin always feels smoother and more radiant after each use.

I I also always have a tube of chapstick within arms reach — in my pocket, purse, desk drawer, car and night stand! Smith’s Rosebud Salve from Ulta is my favorite.

My cheap-cheat brand is Nivea! You can find their products most anywhere and they are gentle enough on my sensitive skin, but rich enough to keep my skin feeling moisturized and smooth. I swear by Nivea’s Essentially Enriched Body Lotion and Care and Cocoa Butter Nourishing Body Wash.

My splurge is always Beautycounter. I’ve been gradually transitioning my skincare and makeup products to the brand over the last two years and love treating myself to products that are safe, healthy, honest and progressive.

Make at least one day of your week makeup free! I’ve done this for eight years now, and so look forward to the days where my essential look is makeup free. I’ve grown more confident in my own skin in doing so, especially if it means going out in public and posting pictures on social media with a bare face and feeling just as beautiful and confident as I would with full makeup.
